
Calabash Fire Department is located in Brunswick County, North Carolina which is along the east coast. The Calabash Fire District consists of the towns of Calabash and Carolina Shores and a rural portion of Brunswick County that is unincorporated into any town but does include housing developments. The total Fire District encompasses 29.7 square miles.

Our original firefighting equipment consisted of a 1974 Ford, John Bean 750 gallon pumper, a 2.5 ton GMC Army type 1000 gallon tanker, and a half-ton truck for brush and woods fires. Our fleet consists of 9 apparatus, from our Ladder 1260 "Southend Stick" to tanker 1265 "The Redneck" . Many of our apparatus fleet hold great nicknames.

The Calabash Fire Department strives to provide the highest level of service possible, prevent, control, and limit damage by Fire in the Calabash Fire District, and elsewhere as may be practical; to render assistance in time of need; to give aid for medical emergencies, and to influence prevention of fire and accidents.
